Did everyone get one of these?

A Message from the California Public Utilities Commission
This month* your utility bill will include a credit identified as the "California Climate Credit." Your household and millions of others throughout the state will receive this credit on your utility bills.

The California Climate Credit is part of California’s efforts to fight climate change. This credit is from a state program that requires power plants and other large industries that emit greenhouse gases to buy carbon pollution permits. The credit on your bill is your share of the payments from the State's program.

The Climate Credit is one of many programs resulting from landmark legislation called the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006. Together, these programs are cutting pollution, creating jobs, and investing in cleaner energy and transportation. Your Climate Credit is designed to help you join in these efforts. Visit www.energyupgradeca.org/the-movement/ to learn about more energy-saving actions you can take.

Translation?

The state is forcing your utility company to return a portion of the funds that they were forced by the state to over-charge you for higher-cost power they were forced by the state to buy from state-subsidized power producers who used your tax dollars to produce higher-cost power.

Yea, what a windfall!

The really sad part of this is that a majority of people in this state believe this ponzi-scheme, and actually believe that the state government is looking out for their best interests.

Glad to see the State has my best interests at heart

All you rooftop solar producers are the high cost energy providers?

Cool change

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/11/u...uts-girls.html

I only wish the BSA execs would've been "honest" in their reasoning for accepting girls in to Cub Scouts. Really a bad example for the boys and now girls they serve. Irving TX makes $24 per kid. Why not invite the girls?

"The Boy Scouts of America, based in Irving, have announced a 60 percent increase in annual membership dues. The fee will go from $15 to $24 for each boy, beginning Jan. 1."

So many of the requirements have been 'watered down' over the decades; maybe that's just a sign of the times and I need to accept it.

Any girl who really wanted to Eagle, need only claim to be trans. Now, that fib is unnecessary.

Just venting.

"Decimated", often used today to mean "almost completely destroyed" technically means reduced by 10%.

Now that's some bone dry humor.
