Looking at 1996 F350 460

Hi everyone!

I was wondering how often the fuel tank switch might fail in in that year of a truck. It’s a 1996 with 217,000 miles on it.

It's usually not the switch that fails, it's the fuel delivery modules in the tanks. The valves get weak & they start cross feeding into the other tank.

If I get the truck should I look at replacing them?

Only if they are not working right. You have to remove the bed or drop the gas tank.
