7.3 L diesel to 7.5 gas flywheel compatability
Will a flywheel and clutch from a 1991 Ford F350 with a 7.3 L diesel fit a 7.5 L externally balanced gas engine in an F350 with a NP 435 4 speed manual?
Yeah, I guess this is not the correct forum, but if anyone can help i will be thankful.

Factory they come with DMF's, but they can take a SMFlywheel.
I'd not cobble it together and get a proper flywheel for the truck.
Now, also from what I understand with a 460 is that you need to get an unballanced flywheel as well. Don't take my word for that one, i'm going from somebody elses info that I have not fact checked.

Tylan, thanks for your input.
In fact, despite my own belief that all 460ci / 7.5L engines where all internally balanced and so had neutral balanced flywheels, this in not true.
While preparing a 1980 460 taken out of an E350 w/auto transmission to replace the '72ish 460 Lincoln motor in my 1980 f350 I saw a balance weight attached to the harmonic damper, something an internally balanced engine dose not require (FYI: originally my truck had a 400ci as 460s were not used in F350s from 1980 thru 1983 according to my research).
So, after some research I discovered that about 1980 ford switched to externally balance in the 460 so this, of course, means I need a externally balanced flywheel.
This is why I started this thread: a local wreaking yards "corporate headquarters" told me they had the flywheel I needed, but when I went to pull it, it was on a diesel and the people there didn't know if it would work. Also I thought a fit might possible as neutral balanced flywheels on several older Ford engines are interchangeable for instance the '72 Lincoln motor is attached to a 390ci flywheel. So you never know, might work.
I am now convinced that it can't work as pointed out 4 bolt vs 6 pattern, dual mass vs single counterweight.
Thanks all for all the good info.
