Help please 07 f150 4.6 overheating
hello i have a problem with my 2007 ford f150 with a 4.6l. When ever i start the truck up the temperature gauge will not move from the cold marker not matter how long i drive it for. i changed the thermostat and flushed the system twice. after doing that the temperature gauge will still not move until i drive the truck then turn it off and back on. when i turn it back on it will read normal op temperature. but this only happened once when i pressed the gas the truck started to over heat it only got the the 3/4 line but after slowing down and re pressing the gas it did not happen again. it is not leaking coolant the fan works and i changed the oil and there was no signs of coolant in the oil. thank you for your time and any help

it sounds like the thermostat and cooling system might be working, but you have an electrical problem between the sending unit and the dash gauge ?........ I would look at the temp sensor on the motor and see that the wire is connected... Im not sure which way the sensor works, but with the wire OFF you will push the temp gauge to max or min, and with the wire GROUNDED to the motor, the gauge should read the opposite max or min........ If it does that, then replace the sensor.. IF not, then the wire or dash gauge is still a problem.
