Ok billet grills are overrated now in my opinion. If painted, it's mostly done black. I have Hunter Green lying around. Would it come out ok or plain flat weird? Any color suggestions & ideas would be helpful as well.
Any dark colors on the grille inserts (particularly black) is going to mostly make it look like there are no inserts in the grille shell --at least when viewed from a distance.
You don't want to paint the shell. The inserts are no problem. It's a lot easier to reverse the paint on the inserts than on the shell. I say paint away on the inserts, if you don't like it, re-paint argent as original.
Your choice, your truck.
Paint the inserts' leading edges silver/argent. The mask the leading edges with fine line tape and paint the rest of it black, dark grey, or body color..... you'll be amazed how crisp it will look.
