48 Ford Pickup Hood Ornament

48 Ford Pickup Hood Ornament
I am finishing up a rebuild of my 48 Ford pickup. I used parts from two F-1 pickups. The truck you see in the attached picture is the original 48 F-1 but I used a hood from the second/parts pickup that I believe is also a 48 F-1.
As shown in the attached picture, there are four small holes in the front center of the hood that look to be the place where a hood ornament would be mounted. The only problem is that I don't have an ornament and I know the original damaged hood from the 48 didn't have an ornament in that place. Does anyone know anything about the original ornament or where I could get one. The four empty holes in the hood generate lots of questions and I'd like to add this finishing touch to my truck. Thanks very much.

There was no standard hood ornament from Ford. Any hood ornament that you see on those trucks was an aftermarket ornament that were popular back in the day. Nice looking truck (even though the picture is upside down ). I wish you had asked that question before you finished the hood. I'm pretty confident that everyone here would have encouraged you to fill those holes.

Thanks to you guys for responding. Just completed and review of 15 pages of a search for "hood ornament" and have drawn the same conclusion as you mentioned above. You're 100% right, wish I would have caught this when we were doing the truck and would have filled the holes. Thanks for the help.
