reverse in low?'s 95 F super duty

Hello,
Changed out the MLPS because the odd time I would get no reverse. Wait an hour or so and it was fine.
Now with the new neutral safety switch (MLPS) I get reverse in low and some forward gear in reverse. Nothing in drive or second.

No amount of adjusting seems to effect it. Starts in park and neutral. Reverse light comes on in reverse.

I'm stumped???
Any advise greatly appreciated.
TIA, arby123

PS: broke old one removing it so can't put it back in.

Is it possible that the new aftermarket switch I installed is faulty?
The box says BWD

Question

I think I have installed the wires backwards. It appears that the diagram was easy for me to misinterpret if your looking from the bottom of the plug or down from the top.
Anyway does anyone know what the trick is to pulling the pins?
It took me forever to do it a couple of days ago and never did figure out what exactly worked to get them out. For the life of me I can't see what holds them in and how they clip into what.

Never mind , I just figured it out. Just turn the pins 90 degrees with a thin screw driver. Dohhh!

Still stumped. I installed another new safety neutral switch I have switched positions of wires. There are two different schematics on the net where pin 1 and pin 4 are reversed. Switched other wires that perhaps i can't read the colors very well (faded) yet every time nothing changes. Still starts in P and N.
Reverse only in low and some forward movement in Reverse. Nothing in D or 2nd. Backup light comes on in R.

I'm back in the bush and this truck never sees a road where plates are needed so it is very difficult to get it to a transmission shop.
Searched the forum and the net and can't find any similar problem.
What could it be??? Arghhhh
Anybody -- HELLLP I'm going nuts. This has gone on for over a week , everyday messing with it.
TIA

I think maybe I have found the problem. The pin or detente pointing into that slotted shaft is not in the first slot like in the photo above but in the second or third slot. The linkage nut was very tight when I undid it to replace the MLPS and it looks like maybe it jumped a position or two. Is this possibly the cause?
