Not a fan of backflip right now
#91
I was contemplating the Bakflip M4 or the Retrax Pro MX for a while. This thread confirms to me that I made the right choice.
Had a BAK VP on my '12 F150.
Put a Retrax Pro MX retractable on my '15 F150.
Just ordered the Retrax for my '18 F350 Platty.
What you give up in a little space @ the front of the bed for the canister is no big deal for me. There really is no comparison. You can open and lock it at ANY position along it's path. I believe it will hold 500# (on top) when closed.
Sure, it's twice the price of a Bak M4, but I want the best for an $80K truck.

Quality control and customer service really seems to have taken a hit with Bak Industries. I received my G2 cover today and found that the rubber seal on the tracks was coming off and would not stick back on. I then discovered that the parts bag was labeled Toyota Tundra but the label on the outside of the box says it is for a 2017 Super Duty. I emailed them pictures of the problem several hours ago but no response back yet. It really sucks as tomorrow is the last decent weather day for the foreseeable future and I have to work on it outside.
