At first it seemed it would be pretty good because on my first tank which was 80% around town it averaged 14.5 which was a little better than both of my previous cummins'. Then came the first trip I was hoping for 18 but pretty much expecting 17 at 70mph. Well how about 13.2😡😡😡. I couldn't believe it and since then have tested multiple other highway 70-75 mph trips with the best one being 14.9.

I talked with the the service advisor today who said bring it in they would re flash it but other than that not much they could do. My reply was that if it doesn't improve I would need to speak with a ford area rep because I didn't spend 8500 for the diesel to get the same fuel economy as the gasser.

Any suggestions and is anyone else seeing this bad of highway mileage or am I correct in thinking that this is unacceptable???
Is it really 13.2 at 70 MPH on the highway? Hell, my 6.4L Hemi off-road Power Wagon gets 16 on the highway at 70 MPH. And that's a heavy tall off-road truck with a gasser.

First tank in a while without towing. F-250 Lariat Ultimate, 6.7, CCSB, 3.55, 20" Michelins, FX4. I tend to drive kind of fast and like to feel the power of the 6.7 when getting up to speed. I have gotten a little over 20 on a straight highway run. The lifetime average includes well over 10k miles towing a 24' gooseneck (4500lbs empty). I ain't complaining.

for real life mileage calcs check out fuelly.com
filter for 2017 F250 - http://www.fuelly.com/car/ford/f-250_super_duty/2017

I have kept track of my fuel milage with this app for my past three trucks - 2 F150s 4x4's and now my F250.

Currently averaging 16.6 mpg over 14,000+ miles. This is actual mpg based on the fuel pump and miles driven not the truck computer which is always a little higher.

You can filter on specific truck builds.

My '09 F150 got about 14.9 if I recall correctly and my '13 got about 15.1

Can you also record hours per tank there in order to determine average MPH/tank? Can you insert notes stating if a tank or five were spent mile-munching on the superslab versus in-town stop-n-go? And based on your averages, can it forecast how many miles you may have on your truck 17 months from now? If no, I'll stick with my Excel spreadsheet and enter that data at home on my desktop PC while enjoying a scotch on the rocks.

MPH/Tank - don't think so
Notes you can add - Also allows you to set city vs Hwy percentage per data entry
No forecasting

But both of the no's above can be submitted to the programmers to see if they can add that to future updates. They are very willing to add user requests.

Since i have "enabled" the DPF Filter % display on my dash display, I'm noticing that my the DPF filter seems to fill up A LOT.

Last night i drove 94 miles round trip (the 1st 47 mile segment was interstate w/ a little bit of heavy slow traffic and the return 47 miles was later in the evening w/ rapid moving interstate driving).

when i started my trip the DPF was 70% full, it cleaned itself during the 47 mile drive, upon return the DPF was 70% full AGAIN.

My question - does the filter really fill that quickly?
I suspect this could be contributing to my (**** poor) MPG!

Did your DPF % go all the way to zero? If I interrupt my regen then it doesn't start another regen right away. It doesn't do another regen until it hits 99%.

SNIP
Did you need Forprog to enable that?

It did reach 0% full before i completed the 1st leg of the 94 mile trip.
but on the return 47M loop, i was back to 65% if not 70%

You can activate an AVG MPH screen with Forscan, but you have to manually reset it when you fill up.

Here is my last month of fill ups. I guess she's starting to get broken in a bit. Just passed the 6,000 mile mark this week. These are calculated manually at the pump so they are highly accurate.

GAS REALLY 15???

I owned 6.2 in this config 4x4 LBCC 18 wheels. NEVER EVER DID I get 15 or 14 or 13 More like 9 to 12. This is in San Diego area. Towing was 7 to 8.

My life time average for 2012 6.7 .13.x. That's it, Not GREAT but that is the number. It better then a gasser.

Yes I do tow heavy and the truck is a brick. The best mpg was in WY running at 40 mph at night. Yeah it was really good like 20 PLUS. The regens do take away 1 or 2 mpg. Don't look at the mileage with a truck like this.

i think that is a problem. Either your truck is really smoky or the sensor is reading high delta p across the dpf. I think you have a sensor issue or dpf issue but it could be a bad injector or some kind of egr issue. Sensor issue seems most likely to me.
