53 F100 215 CID Main bearing help

The sealed power Part # SEP 4056M main bearing set that I ordered was ok till I got to the rear main. That bearing is 1 5/16 wide where the other non thrust bearings 1 and 2 are 1 1/16 wide. The bearing set has 3 of the 1 1/16 and the thrust bearing. The motor is original to the truck. Anyone know what part # and where I could find the right set or just the rear one. I already used the bearings that fit before finding out the rear main was different and will have to eat the wrong set. Thanks Mike

Do you mean the 3rd main from the front? Don't know if you can buy just one main... I'd call Sealed Power and complain first, it may just be a packaging error. Then I'd try an engine rebuilding shop. Read this too:

Is the 6342 the part you're after?

^^Agreed. I've many times received sets with one odd bearing. Always, ALWAYS open the packages and check them before too much time goes by and the return window has shut. I've got a half-dozen parts in the garage I failed to check in time...

Finding the correct Rear Main bearing # 6331

Thanks for the info. In the service manual the rear main bearing # is 6331. The front and front intermediate bearings are # # 6333 and the thrust bearing insert is # 6342. Now to find 6331. Not sure where to start so I don't buy the wrong one or set again.

Finding the correct Rear Main bearing # 6331

Thanks for the help. The Green Sales people had the EAG6331G for $8.

That's great! I see now that the thrust is inboard on those engines, usually it's the rearmost.
