Limited slip differential on ford expedition

1. There's a sticker in the driver's door area that has an axle code on it.
2. There's a metal axle ID tag under one of the bolts on the differential cover.
3. Jack up the rear so both wheels are off the ground, in Park with e-brake off, turn either wheel. If the opposite side turns in the opposite direction it's a standard rear. If however you cannot turn the wheel or it's extremely hard then you have a LS rear.

I have not worked on the rear axle on either of my Navigators. I have no idea if you have to drop the center section to even remove the cover. It was easy to do on my solid axle 8.8" equipped vehicles.
It's much easier if you can pull the carrier and put it on a bench. Not rocket science, it just takes time.
