6.4L codes and loss of power

Father in law has a 2009 6.4L F350. It's throwing 2 codes P242BB1S3 and P040D2X and has power loss to the point he can't hold 70mph
Any advice or fixes?

We talked about deleting would this fix our problems and would it be worth it
also truck is 100% stock

replace the #3 egt sensor its a 80 dollar part. your going to need a flare nut wrench and a tourch, some spry penetrate.
