finally, a little progress on my 56'

thought I would post a few pictures of some progress I made on my project. after seeing FTE member "ingo" and his super nice rear 4 link, I had to have one too. of course it's never a quick one item thing with these kinds of projects, I had to do some other things while it was all apart, like a gear change for the AOD, (3.80's), new rear brakes, install my new efi gas tank, weld up a bunch of un-wanted holes, some paint, all on top of the 4 link. i'm happy to move it forward though. have a look.

Its gorgeous, and thank you for the nice pics. Seems like there are less pics being posted on what folks are doing these days. Personally I LOVE pics, any pics I don't care if if its bleeding brakes or adding a blower, I enjoy seeing what everyone is doing. So Rock on, and post lots of pics, please. So a rep for the beautiful work, and also the pics.

you don't like seeing brakes being blead? whats not to like! the ups and downs, it's a real adventure. I also like seeing a ash tray slider get lubed. super interesting. no blower project? alright, i'l sell this at my next yard sale then. thanks for the nice comments though everyone, didn't mean to force anyone.

bending up some ss fuel lines, made some stand-offs to clear bolt, rivets etc. then, had some hoses made. very slow moving project.

Looks Great. Nice work. Is that a mustang tank? If so, I would like more information to use on my 1949

the tank is from "tanks inc" and it is a mustang tank. this tank is set up for efi with a built in pump. they make a lot of great tanks that can be used for these trucks and yours in steel and I believe stainless steel too. study their web-site because I think they made a tank that would have worked out even better for me but I missed it. oh well, i'm very happy with this.

Thanks for the kind words.
Man, nice progress. Looks perfect with the all new brakes, suspension and fuel lines .
Why did you use the lower shock mounts "offsetplates"?
What is the hole spacing of your brakecalipers?
What is the diameter of your brakediscs?

4 link is from tci out here in so-cal, and the lower shock mounts must be used like this for this truck so they don't rub on lower frame channel. maybe shared part from another kit? not sure. brake bolt pattern is small bearing, but kit comes with both large and small, disc is 11-1/4" I think. see what you started?

Nice work. I really like the way you've done the fuel lines.

thank you justboy, i'll get some pics up of the front as soon as I know if what I want to do will work. I trying to retain the ford spring-loc connectors that feed the engine just as ford used. i'm re-shaping the lines to suit the engine compartment of the 56', then i'll have the hoses made up, and he already was making some noise about not wanting to do them. they would be an #6- ford spring-loc. he doesn't know what a spring-loc is. I think he'll do it for me though.
