is a 2.5 inch leveling kit too much

I just bought a 2016 f150 xlt sport and the rear measures 40 inches and the front measures 37 inches from level ground to bottom of wheel well. With 3/4 tank of gas. Is 2.5 inch leveling kit to much just front.

It is at the upper edge of the leveling kit limits. You should be fine. Most 2.5" kits won't actually give you 2.5" of lift.

I'd go at least 6" ....jdunk I see you had a '17 Superduty what made you wanna get rid of it for a '14 F150, I've been looking at the new '17 Superdutys myself (6.2 as well).

My wife and I started the dave ramsey get out of debt plan. It just didn't make sense to have that truck anymore with our new goals and plans.

Gotcha, 100% respect on that. I'm a fan of Ramsey and I know how he feels about vehicle debt let alone debt in general ( not saying I'm not guilty of bad financial choices ). Money aside what where your impressions of the new Superduty with the 6.2

It was a nice truck. Plenty of power to do whatever I needed it to. People are pulling 20,000 lbs with them. I will probably buy one again once we are out of debt and can afford that and the toy hauler with cash. But then again this ecoboost f150 is the same except payload for power. So who knows what will happen.
