Matrix9311,
I am glad to hear that everything worked out well for you. I too am surprised that the cost to replace the entire system was under 10k, with past reports around 15k. Ford must have put all the parts in a kit or something.
It might be to the benifit of members here if you posted the name of the station. Based on your story I would give them my business if they have a location near me.

This probably happens more then you think...not too many oil company trucks and drivers dumping fuel at their locations anymore. They contract most of the loads out to common carrier tank trucks whose drivers may not be familiar with the tanks at the stations. These drivers get paid by the load or mile and usually in a big hurry and stuff like this happens. Just think when they dump a few hundred gallons of av gas into the jet fuel tank!

I agree with lowrpmtorque. IMO, naming the station based on your story is not shaming at all. Sounds like a success story to me. I went through a fuel system replacement in another truck, so I feel your pain on that, but accidents happen and to have them own up to it and make it right as they've done...wow! I'd not hesitate to give that place my business (yea, I'd definitely keep the receipt, lol, but then I've started making that a habit anyway).
BTW, fuel system replacement on my other truck (GMC) took 3 months...it's why I have a Ford now, but that's another story. 3 weeks is pretty good. I'm a month now since I got rear ended and still don't have my truck back
Good luck to you-hope it turns out OK and you don't have any more issues.

Once the work has been completed and the dealership has been paid and I've been compensated for the extended warranty purchase I will release the name of the gas station. As of now i dont want something to get back to them even though there is no shaming being said and they for some reason decide to pull their payment to the dealership. I doubt that would happen but you never know.

Personally I wish you'd name the station so I could make sure to go there. Sounds like they did the right thing and more and the people at this particular location will be especially vigilant now. I'm of the opinion that you can't expect perfection out of anyone. We're all human. All you can do is judge people and companies on how they respond when they do make a mistake and these folks sound like they nailed it.

This is a great story. I am shocked at how much it cost to replace the fuel system on the truck though. $9,000+ seems like a ton of money for those repairs. The entire engine is about a $8,500 upgrade over gasser right?
My wife has a Mercedes GL 3.0 oil burner. It's a 2015. The dealership took 2 months to repair some bumper damage and they felt so bad they filled it up for us and drove it to our house. On the way to our house they called me to get better directions. While on the phone with the guy the SUV started running bad. I asked him if they put gasoline in it or diesel. He said gas. I said it's a diesel. He said he better drive it back to the dealership. I said yes you should. 2 weeks later we got it back...but they only drained the fuel system and changed out 2 filters. The truck has not hit the same MPG per tank as it did before this incident.
Good news the Ford technicians make every effort to get the vehicle repaired as new. The Mercedes people take short cuts even though this vehicle is on lease and they own it.
Sorry this happened to you but what an awesome story and a great level of customer service by whatever gas station this is. They stand behind their product like a Craftsman tool. 100% satisfaction.
