1992 F-150 Leaf Spring Shim Question/Opinions
I am currently working on the rear suspension on my 1992 Ford F-150 Flareside Regular Cab Short Bed. I am putting on brand new Pro Comp 23411 leaf springs along with all new hangers and shackles. I am taking apart the springs and removing the aluminum leaf spring shims and plan on replacing with steel ones. I am curious if anyone with a Regular Cab Flareside Short bed has used this kind of setup, and if so what degree shims did you use? Originally the truck had the 2 inch factory blocks in the back and factory springs. There is no shim on my truck originally(not on the factory blocks or the springs). Just looking for some advice on what size shim to use. If nothing else, I am planning on taking the aluminum shim out, putting the truck together and then measure the angles between the pinion and transfer case to find the correct angle. Any help or opinions are much appreciated!! Thanks!!
