Now this may not work if it is mechanically locked but you can try this, Put your foot on the brake so the truck doesn't roll, turn the key to the "run" position, then shift into neutral, then start the truck.
My guess is that the the brake switch may be warn out, sometimes the little contacts in the switch get worn out.

you replaced the brake light switch !! YES.
disconnect the battery cable.. wait 10 minutes.. that resets computer.
computer controls the transmission...
brake light switch controls THRU the computer, the following , cruiser control, brake lights, transmission lock in park.
< my opinion >

So you replaced the brake switch down by the brake pedal correct? Have you gone thru and checked your fuses, the ones in the cab and under the hood to make sure nothing is blown? I would have a look at them. The only other thing I can think of is if the solenoid for the interlock might be toast.
You havent done any recent electrical work to the truck have you? stereo, after market brake controller or anything like that? Just trying to see if anyone did and recent work under the dash. One of the reasons I said to check all your fuses is sometimes it might not indicate that their may be an association to the brake switch and Ford has been know to give something an oddball name and yet it still corresponds to another function. I would pull each fuse one by one and confirm you have no blown fuses.

Same thing happend to me. Shut it off left the keys in it for 20 mins. Now I go out the shifter is stuck in park and won’t crank. Just clinking under a dash. Just need to figure out ASAP. Rather frustrating considering I’ve only had it for a week.
