If its going in a 53 truck then you need the
53 only truck bell housing. Then I think the 1/2 ton truck bellhousing is different than the 3/4 ton and up? Not sure on that though. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.
I do have an extra 53 bell housing if you end up needing it.
The light duty 3 speed bell is different then the heavy duty 3 speed bell in the bolt pattern. I think that the 4 speed and the heavy duty 3 speed share the same bell?
I believe the OP has a 6-cyl '48 truck and trans that he wants to put a '53 V8 engine into. If that is the case, this is what's needed, a 48-52 V8 clutch cover ("1/2 bellhousing").
I need one for the 239 engine I have a 4 speed and adaptor for the 6 flat head engine but I want to use the same 4 speed trans with the 239 flathead v8 but I need the bell housing to mate
