Trannys for a 2002 4.2 v6

My transmisson is going out in my 2002 F150 4.2 v6 2wd. I was wondering what transmisson would bolt up relatively easy. I bought a salvage truck with a 4.6 v8 because I was told by a couple shops around town that it would bolt right up. Not the case. Any help would be grateful.

The bell housing pattern on the v6 is completely different from the v8.
You should have researched it before buying the truck.
Good luck.

Same bellhousing pattern as the older Windsor V8, but if you are looking for an AT, you will not find one compatible with your truck behind one of the older engines.
