I agree the stock lights are not that great and with all of the aftermarket options and how inexpensive they are its easier to go that route. Either with an upfitter switch or swich in the bed.

Yeah, my Line-X guy sprayed over everything on mine, too. I actually have the harness installed I need to add the bed lights and switch...but I would need to cut out the Line-X...and try to keep it looking decent.

Where does the OEM Switch Install?

Where does the switch install for the bed lights?

Do the lights come on with the cargo area light on the third brake light, or go off automatically like the cargo light does (after enabling with FORScan)?

The switch goes on the left hand side. These lights do follow the 3rd brake light's cargo light.

Bed Lighting

I would like to add LED bed lights, LED spot light in third brake light and LED trailer hitch light, on my 2018 F-350. Will the kit and parts you ordered work in factory holes and work off switch in the bed and in the cab. My truck is an XLT with no Bliss or LED tail lights. Thanks For any help.

I am curious, adding aftermarket LEDs, where did everyone tap into 12V? I don't have upfitter switches, and I really don't want to run wiring up to the battery. The SHOULD be 12V somewhere at the back that is ACC controlled.

If you have the vehicle towing package, there is a 7-pin (wire) harness at the rear bumper which includes 12v for charging a trailer battery (such as for a run-a-way brake actuator).

I don't know if the trailer 12v lead is ignition switched. On the 7-way RV style trailer connector wiring, pin 4 is the 12v lead. I don't know what color it is on the truck side, and I'm sure it varies by year. A voltmeter will be an easy way to find it while the IGN is on and the lights are off. Then, turn off the IGN and see if it still has power, or perhaps someone else knows if it's always hot.

Where did you tap 12v from to power the lights?

Not a bad project, about an hour. Dropped the spare, popped out taillights to unhook, dropped wires down, fought getting the harness clips out. Once it was unclipped, slid it right out. New harness went right in and connected right in place. Need to forscan for it to work properly. 2 Bed Lamps--FL3Z-13A756-A ($64.08) 1 Switch--FL3Z-9C888-B ($15.95) Main Harness (taillight to taillight) HC3Z-13A409-RB-($64.08) Drivers Side Harness--HC3Z-13K371-A ($6.97) Passenger Side Harness--HC3Z-13K371-B($11.61) Nice plug and play project. I can get more pics if someone wants more specific views. I got rolling along and forgot about pics at times.

New Harness on the outside of original. I extra pigtail on left, 2 extra on bottom right

The black connector is plugged in to what was capped off on original Harness. Both connections are on passenger side rear by spare
Do you know if these P/N's work with the XLT with Bliss?

I think the main harness # you need would be HC3Z-13A409-G. I think the other items are the same. Nate at Fairway Ford in Ohio was very helpful with me.. I ordered a few things from him. I found his prices as good as and better than some. Most items I ordered from him were delivered in 2 days.
Please check with someone before ordering as yours is a little different than mine. Once you have correct part numbers, you can shop around if you like.
Good luck. Fun project.

Thanks all for the part numbers and the details on the HC3Z-13A409-G harness for the 2017 with NO LED and Equipped with BLIS. All of this was correct along with the Forscan programming table to change. All you help was appreciated. 2017 F-250 Diesel

I'm going to order these parts for my 2018 XLT f-350 w/back up camera, No Bliss or LED. How much did the dealer charge you and are you happy with OEM lights have seen aftermarket lights with oem plugs that they say are brighter.

I just finished installing mine with OEM lights. I bought extra passenger side light harnesses with the expectation of installing LED strips at the front of the bed to provide lights in that area.
