Wow.
I skipped from Page 3 to the end, what city/town are you in, Sean?
I was born at Little Company of Mary hospital, I think that's someplace near Chicago; grew up in a place called Oak Forest (near Tinley Park/Midlothian/Orland Park) and moved to CO in 1978 with my family when I was 15 yo (had no choice).
My mom divorced my dad in 2005 and moved back to IL, settled in a place called Westmont. Me and my brother would go visit her approximately once a year and we'd see the sites as if we were tourists. The city of Chicago has some really cool museums (Museum of Science and Industry in particular), attractions and history, there are certain aspects of it that are really desirable.
There are also a lot of gangs & shootings & killings in the city, I had an uncle who lived in a town called Roseland but nobody would dare take me there in recent times to see it, too dangerous is what they said.
And the corrupt politicians, apparently there are several people from the Illinois government in some sort of jail or prison.
But you have nice hardwood trees out there, lots of them.
Anyway, I'm rambling again....

Agree Rick. It started out life in Orlando Park, IL as a '98 with my folks. Then I bought it in 2011 with 130k on the clock. Now it has 270k on the clock. It just keeps ticking.
I need to get IL plates but I think my title is with the Mayflower stuff... oh well.
I should be missing that heat Pop, but not yet. Ask me again 2/1/18.
Chris, I'm in DeKalb. My mom worked at Little Co of Mary in the 50's.

It has become apparent to me that you're familiar with the area.
Which means you're already familiar with the benefits of the area - most importantly, ethnic food prevails really well out there.
And pizza, nowhere else have I seen paper-thin pizza cut into little squares.
But most importantly (ha!) the junk food....
You have White Castle and Dunkin' Donuts, so everything will be fine.

Don't forget da BEARS!

Worked on a few projects for mom; leaky faucet (added more graphite rope as packing) and new cement cap for da sewer down-pipe ( that's green spray paint-not sure why). De-leaved the rain gutters, tightened a few hinges, 9volt battery change outs...

After reading this, I'm kinda screwed; need to pay for a years worth of CA registration of which I'll use a months' worth (my CA tags expire this month). That must be what they call the CA exit tax.
