My bad.
In looking at your first set of pics I didn't realize the pics were sideways because I concentrated solely on the hinge spots. And yeah, I am actually well aware of how funky those panel doors are, I was just thinking (because the pics were sideways) you had such an old box that it wasn't set up that way.

OTOH, Justin might have a pair somewhere lost in the bed of his pickup!
However, mine look similar, but not the same. The hinge mounts to the lower of those holes. Lemmee get a photo up here for you.
S'cuse the chipped paint.....
Justin will recognize this as an old Zinsco box, this one's from 1957.

Sorry just got back from a 4 day trip to oceano dunes did some campin and quad/dirtbike rideing..... toyed with the idea of getting a job there and making it a one way trip
anyways, pops panel is a zinsco... Sean's i want to say is a GE, or challenger, etc
Sean lemme take a look when i get back to the junkyard..uh i mean house i got a scrap pile and mayyybe i have the hinges. And double luckey if i do and havent taken the trailer load to the scrap yard!
parts are obsolete for alot of the old stuff, get asked all the time for the "dead front" that covers the breakers and sometimes for the door.... it does not pay to make custom parts, and also dont want the liability.

Thx guys!!! As I look at my box, simply closing the locking tab on the bottom makes a fine seal, no water can get in if I weld in the 4 holes. Doubtful it would pass; I must be using too much common sense.
In the meantime, I've been working on other stuff the new owner would like fixed. The house was inspected a 2nd time and that guy found 7 new items. The romex garage electric didn't ring his bell so it's gonna stay.
Now equake stabilized condenser. Don't ya love plumbers tape?

We're going up to Oceano Dunes in January for a few days, but staying in the campground. We likes our power and water!
With family and friends, we'll have at least five spots filled.
Gotta' reserve almost on the first available day to get spots together.
We don't worry about the weather in January up there, as it usually is nice, but if it's rainy, windy, and cold, we'll just spend more time inside instead of around a fire outside.
We really don't care. That's not the important thing.

I'll likely fill in the top screw hole to keep moisture out. I was imagining the clip/hinge goes on the outside, similar to Pop's, but now I see the louvre punched inward below the original mounting hole which makes me wonder about the hinge sitting on the inside position. Or am I overthinking this?
edit, if it mounted on the outside, one could never remove the door without removing the screw...

ultimately snap the door closed, screw the hinge to the door and the hinge hooks through the upper cover that the meter holds in.
