Anyone switch 350 blocks to 250 blocks?

When I bought my truck I didn't really need an F-350 but the one I found was so nice I bought it. It has served me very well with zero regrets. Now however there is a change on the horizon. Will be towing a recreational trailer. We rented one in July and fully loaded for camping the F350 was still high in the rear and had to drop the hitch a fair amount. Yesterday I saw an F350 just like mine except it sat level. It was not lifted in the front, it looked like it had been lowered in the back to look like a 250, and it looked good. I am thinking about doing this to make the 350 more suitable for it's new job. I do not want to raise the front end as that will raise my center of gravity and defeat my purpose of safe highway towing, so I am thinking about getting the F250 blocks and swapping them out.

Anyone try this?

I think the only difference between 250 and 350 is the blocks on rear axle. not sure up front but it appeared to be same as my 250. I bet removing them would help with lowering and leveling the truck.

The shorter blocks with new u bolts will be a direct swap and lower your truck as you desire. I think I have a set in the barn I'd be more than willing to get rid of if you need a set. Just pm me and we can take it from there.

Looks like I might wait on this at the advice of the guy at the local spring shop. He said wait till I get the trailer than we can set the truck up properly to match.

Maybe buy a 5th wheel and adjust the king pin as necessary? I think 5th wheels pull better anyway, and since the bedroom is usually half over the truck bed, you can pull and back a bigger trailer in a smaller space.

5th wheels do pull better but we are set on an Airstream and it will fit in my garage. A fifth wheel I would have to store off site. I will get a Hensley design hitch and drive 65.

55 mph max in this stupid state. I love the look of airstreams, but last time out i got to talking to a couple of owners, and they agreed that every few years, they need a complete resealing or they will leak. Also they said the smaller trailers were worth more than the larger ones. I guess because they are easier to tow and park.

on truck in signature removed spacer blocks from rear axle so slide in camper A.C. would clear over head door/eves. p/n 1Z-5598-EA was 2-1/4 tall, the original F-350 spacers were 3-11/16 which lowered 1-7/16, just enough for A.C. to clear with air bags inflated to max.,if i remember right dealer showed more than one option in F-250 spacers.

Yes the spacers vary according to short bed, long bed, crew etc. Although I suspect they all would fit just different heights.

If you have a good spring shop, follow their advice on correct setup. They are like dentists; they know what they are doing, and we don't.

Also consider your stowage of Other Crap. With a bumper pull you have a bed to fill with these golden nuggets (and a bed cover) and the additional weight might make you level. Consider or assemble the whole shebang before addressing the suspension.

I'm a 5er guy, but Airstreams are top notch. Only been in a couple but everything was stout and exactly where you wanted it to be. You're paying for the engineering.

Is that throughout the entire state?

About a year and a half ago i moved my buddy from Colorado to California. I was towing a dual axle like 14' uhaul trailer behind me.

I forget what highway i was on, but the limit was "55 mph for anybody towing" and then i got into the CENTER of town in Temecula and the speed limit was like 60 or 65 again.

I was like uhhhhh wait what?
