Intake Leak Fixed, Now I have a P1443

Hello, I just recently fixed 2 lean codes on my father's 1996 Ford F-250 2 wheel drive with a 4.9l inline 6. The codes were caused by a leaky intake manifold that has now been fixed. Ever since the fix though, a code that I had only seen a few times before the fix i am now seeing all the time. The code is P1443 which in fords I believe refers too "EVAP Control System Purge Control Solenoid or Purge Control Valve Fault". I looked for any leaks between the purge solenoid and the EVAP canister with a vacuum pump and between the purge solenoid and the intake manifold the same way. I have replaced the purge solenoid twice, both times with a motorcraft replacement. When I tried bench testing all three solenoids (The original and the 2 replacements) i couldn't get any of them to click, I don't know if I am just testing them wrong. I don't know what I can do to further test the system and finally get this check engine light gone for good. Does the whole EVAP system need to be smoke tested? Can a EVAP leak cause this code? Thank you for the help.

Have you tried clearing that code from Continuous Memory?

Some info from my Ford service CD

Possible causes:

Obstructed, open or cracked hoses between EVAP canister purge valve and intake manifold.

Damaged EVAP canister purge valve.

Damaged PF sensor.

Check for loose pins or broken wires by pulling moderately on the PF, VPWR and PWR GND circuits at PF sensor harness connector. Repair as necessary.
