XLT Upgrades - Leather Steering Wheel, Trailer Hook Up Light

Cant stand your urethane steering wheel? Purchase the Lariat HC3Z3600EB steering wheel and viola! You have a nice leather unit. You can ditch the silver trim piece and put your black one back on or keep it - I ditched it because it did not match anything in the XLT. Easy install, vids on YouTube. Need to hook up a trailer at night, but your rig did not come with the cool LED hook up light? My XLT was a plug and play. What you need: Harness HC3Z14A412EA, Lamp HC3Z15500A and the proper tailgate handle (mine required the tailgate camera and light, black with a chrome handle) HC3Z9943400. Works like it should! I can post a few pics of the trailer hook-up light install and what wires need to be present in your tailgate harness. Pretty easy install, two of the four handle nuts on the handle are tricky - I have the tailgate step

I'm with you on the wheel. The factory XLT wheel sucks. How much did you get the wheel for?

I purchased from Tasca - about $160 bucks - expensive but I could not STAND that urethane wheel. I had a leather one in my F150 and urethane was completely unacceptable

I'm actually looking to replace my steering wheel with the raptor one. You have to replace your XLT buttons with the ones that come on the stock wheel, but it looks easy enough to do.

On the Lariat wheel the switchgrear is the same as the XLT - as per the p/n I purchased. I have the XLT Premium. There is a YouTube video with a guy using a Raptor wheel. All plug and play Except - paddle shifting will not work.

Did seem odd to me that you can get a leather wheel on a F150 XLT but not a F250 XLT...also a "must-have" for me. May sound strange to some, but I was considering a Tundra TRD Pro (I've had 2 Tundras and both were great trucks) but $50K for a truck with no leather on the steering wheel was ridiculous. F250 Lariat FX4 6.2 was less $ than a TRD Pro.....a lot more truck for the money.

$160 for a leather steering wheel? AND its an easy install? That's a no brainer. How easy is EASY?

Is this it? The diagram must be wrong. https://www.wearefordparts.com/oem-p...eel-hc3z3600eb
