That firewall looks great. I like the lighter color idea. That primer looks like tough stuff. Great work. I'm with Teach- it's too cold here to apply anything- it's been from 5 to 25deg here.

Yep that stuff gets pretty hard. The longer it cures the harder it gets too. While you’re wet sanding, use a rubber squeegee or bonds spreader to wipe away the sludge. If you see heavy scratches, follow the 400 wet with 600 wet.

buttercup ready for paint.

She'll be yellow this week come hell or high water.
The heat gun Is how I preheat the sheet metal.

I think my little tablet I use for a camera in the shop has some overspray on it judging from the haziness of the photos

Buttercup in paint finally.

This is the first of 3 coats but I'm happy so far.

Thanks, I ordered 800.00 worth of interior insulation, sound deadener, and a firewall cover. Don't tell my supervisor! For anyone thinking about trying one of those cheap firewall covers off of e-bay, don't! I bought one and the holes are wrong among other things. I'm sending it back. I've spent too much time and money on this restoration so far to start making it look substandard now with cheap parts.

Where did you get your cover, and what insulation are you using?

I ordered them from "Accoustishield". Their quality is excellent and their kits are very complete.

Okay, I'll add that to the list of vendors to look at!

I'll take some pictures when I get them so people can judge the quality for themselves.
