58 F100 Front and Rear lower shock mounts.

Hi All. Looking for pictures and maybe point me in the right direction for the front and rear lower shock mounts for a '58 F100. Uppers are there. Truck didn't have them when I bought it. I did an axle over springs conversion on both front and rear and realize I will have to do some fabrikatin' but I need a place to start. Here is a link to my thread.

I'll try and take pictures of mine tomorrow in the daylight. Mine is a '57, should be the same?

Look on the front axle and the rear lower spring cap to see if the shock absorber mounting brackets are present.

If not, you will need them and the stud that retains the rear shock absorbers to the brackets.

Previous owner removed them when they added the extra leafs. it was a farm truck and they jest ran without shocks. I am hoping to get both front and rear original brackets. I don't want to buy aftermarket. If they are not available, I'll make my own. I did an axle over spring swap on both axles with the u-bolts now inverted and once I get the brackets, I intend to fabricate brackets so I can bolt the originals in place and use original length shocks. Browsing the internet, I see 3 different styles.

You quoted my post so quickly that I didn't have time to edit the typo.

The photos show the rear, lower shock mounts (L&R) which are held on by the U-bolts. They were removed from my '58 F-100. PM me if you are interested in them.

When purchased from Ford, these are two separate parts.

The B6C-18193-A studs are retained to the B7C-18132-A/B7C-18133-A R/L brackets with 34374-S7 1/2" -20 lock nuts.

Good point! The ones shown above are each an assembly and have the castle style, retaining nuts. I didn't want to damage them by trying to take them apart.

Actually my brain was fried by the heat today (110 degrees) working on tractors in the sun. With the flip, I used new round u-bolts and they are pointed down like the originals. I just have to buy or build a bottom u-bolt plate. Those should bolt right up.
