Painted Horse... Please keep in mind that Better Diesel is not advertised as an MPG improver. It's mainly a DPF product. You may gain some MPG due to the fact that your Regens will be shorter and less frequent, but don't expect to gain much MPG. Lots of info in this forum.

I've gone thru about 10 oz of a 16 oz bottle of the Better Diesel product. I put 100-125 miles per day on my truck for work and usually more on weekends hauling horses to mountain trails.
I was kinda coming to the conclusion that this stuff was expensive to use. My daily fuel mileage has not increased. So I'm hoping for prolonged life out of the DPF as justification for using it.

But the last two weekend I have hauled horses. 1 to Driggs Idaho area, about a 5 hour drive each way. and 2nd to Logan Canyon about 2 hours each way. Since work pays for my fuel while I'm working, I fill up on Friday after work to keep my fuel use for the weekend separate
I usually see 10.x fuel mileage while towing vs my 16-17 mpg commuting to work. My trip to Driggs Idaho resulted in 12.4 mpg and the one up Logan canyon today was 13.3 mpg. I'm pretty sure I didn't regen on this weekends trip. 200 +/- miles and I'm showing 84% on DPF. And active regen might cost me a 1 mpg.

I put in 2 OZ of Better Diesel per 48 gallon tank ( usually fill up at 40-42 gallons) and I add 2 squirts ( about 2 oz ) of Opti-Lube Summer for Lubrication and Cetane.
I'm not seeing any gain from hiway use, But I might just be seeing a little improvement while towing. Enough that I will watch this close for the next few trips hauling the horses and see if it stays up.

Expensive to use? I just finished my second bottle of Enerburn after 12,000 miles. I think I paid about $95 with shipping a year ago, less for the replacement bottles a few months ago and will pay even less with FBC in the future. Not bad for 500 mile regen intervals.

I realize this, But was surprised to see my towing mileage go up.
Now granted I didn't log my Active Regens. So maybe my MPG is up only because it had not regen'd during those tanks of fuel.

SkiSmuggs, I've gone thru the better part of a bottle just this last month. But then I'm filling up a 48 gal fuel tank twice a week. Each 16 oz bottle does 400 gallons, which is one bottle per month. At $64 for a two pack plus freight and I'm going thru a bottle every month. Yes it kinda seems expensive

Painted Horse...You might want to give Jane a call and tell her how much your using. You may be able to get a better deal buying a larger amount at a time.

Okay, had no idea you were doing that much driving. I agree with HarleyJoe that you might contact Jane at BetterDiesel for a more cost effective purchase plan.

Well, tired of worrying about it. Don't trust the local dealer, but found an ASE certified shop in Daytona Beach that has all 5 star reviews. Made an appointment for them to take a look at my truck. They said they were very familiar with the emission system for the 6.7, so figured I'd take a chance. They only charge 95 for the inspection, and diagnosis, compared to ford that charges 220. They have all the same equipment and can do the programing of the computer if required. They can also replace the DPF considerably cheaper than the Stealer. Will let you all.know if they find anything. I'm a worry wart I guess, but I want to keep this truck as long as possible, and don't want to delete.

There is a new dosing on the enerburn. Jane says it is now recommended to use 1oz per 30gal. Try lowering your dosing a little bit and see if that helps. So on a 40 gallon fill up you should only be using about 1.3oz of enerburn.

You might want to check that again. The new Better Diesel has been formulated for 1oz to 25 gallons. this is according to a conversation with Jane.

Based on further testing, 1 oz per 25 gallons yields the best consistent results.

I just bought a twin pack of the 16oz bottles to try. I'm sure I could buy the gallon jug size and be a little cheaper.
And yes, I'been dosing at the 1:20 ration, So I'll try backing off to 1:25

Good idea. This is not a more is better situation. I've read that overdosing degrades the performance some. The 1:20 is just for the first couple (large tanks) or first four 26 gallon tanks to condition the cylinders and exhaust. 1:25 is the normal maintenance dose. Apparently, a period of 1:30 works for a while then starts to fall off some, so 1:25 is the recommendation. Only a little math is needed at the pump. You can guestimate how much and add before fill up, or you can fill, then add exactly what is needed. 15 gallons of fuel means 2/3 oz of Enerburn, etc. It will mix while you drive.

I never saw the message to bump back up to 1:25. I will have to start doing that as well. Maybe we can get with jane and see if she can assist with getting better, more fine tuned, markings on the bottles. With the dose being so small in the first place even just a little more or a little less can mess up the dosage. Maybe I'm just being too ****. I dont know.
