1986 Ford Bronco 302 - AC dead - Looking for guidance
Hey Everyone!
I'm a new '86 Ford Bronco 302 owner. I'm generally an OK mechanic, but I've never worked with AC before.
And the AC non-response in my Bronco. Here is the scene:
- The heater/AC controls seem non-responsive
- The voltage to the compressor seems to be bouncing around 1 volt
- The compressor doesn't seem to kick on
- No heater/AC fan noise at all
I have read and reread the AC / heater section in my chilton's book to no avail.
I also haven't been able to find a decent AC wiring diagram for that year/make/model.
I'm hoping that some of you can give me some tips with where to start!
Thanks a bunch!
Bob

Hey Robert. Welcome.
You posted this up in the Early Bronco 66 to 77 forum though, so most of us don't have A/C and certainly none from the factory, since it was not an option.
Maybe you caught that already, but hopefully you'll get more action over there on the full-size Bronco section.
Of course, some here also own later Broncos as well, so maybe someone will be able to help after all.
Good luck either way. No A/C truly sucks!
Not sure how we did it for all those years/decades before A/C was a normal thing.
