Question '64 F100 460 engine swap with C4 IFS

I'm new to this site. I have installed a Corvette C4 IFS using the Flatout Engineering kit on my stock frame. I'm very happy with the results. I am now installing a Ford big block 460 with a C6 transmission. My questions are:
Has anyone done this motor swap with this suspension kit before?
What motor mounts and headers did you use? I'm wanting to mount the motor as low and as far back as I can to distribute the weight more equally front to back and lower the center of gravity of the truck. I would like to do this without cutting a big section of the firewall out if possible. Any help of advice would be appreciated. I'm told the Ford '53-'56 trucks have the same frame dimensions as the '64 as well if someone has done the same swaps in one of those trucks. Thanks.
Doug

Unfortunately I can't really help you with your query but am curious as to what the decision making process was for choosing this particular suspension swap? Only because I haven't seen this one before (which doesn't mean anything there are a lot of things I've never seen before.)

I had built a '56 F100 a few decades ago with a Volare front clip and a Jag independent rear end with an FE 428 CJ motor. I handled okay but still felt like a big floater when driving it. The truck was stolen while I was in college. I acquired this truck, which is the same year and model as a truck my grandfather had while I was in high school. As I'm not as young as springtime anymore, I was looking for something that would give me independent suspension on all four corners, big power disc brakes on all four corners, and power rack and pinion steering. I'm too old to race around any more and wanted a good quality ride, dependable engineering and easily available replacement parts without costing an arm and a leg. I got the suspensions for nothing so the decision was pretty easy. I enjoy doing this kind of work as a hobby so it was a nice new challenge to tackle. I've ridden in several corvettes and the ride is pretty sweet from a handling standpoint. I thought I'd try something no one else has as I'm now finding out. Thanks for taking a peek.

That makes good sense to me and from here it seems as good a solution as any. Interested to see how this pans out.

My next step is to cut out that factory cross-member under the firewall so I can stuff that big block and C6 in there to make motor and tranny mounts. I'll box and stiffen the frame as I work my way back as well.

Not to jump ahead but what are the plans for the rear suspension?

Front looks really good. It's about 6.5" from the ground without the bumper? Probably 4.5" with the bumper. That is if you find a shock absorber that matches the length of the bar you have in there right now...while its compressed...with the big block in there.

I like this thread...

Rear end is at stock height right now so it looks lower than it actually will be. I have the 1988 Corvette C4 rear end to put in it yet. That will lower the rear end about 4-1/2", give me independent suspension on all four corners, big power disc brakes on all four corners, power rack and pinion steering and posi-traction in the rear.

That will be really cool. Are your plans to do stuff like autocross with this truck? Or just to tear up some roads?

Both actually. I'd like to drive it to work on a regular basis and I would like to introduce my son to Autocross with it. It will eventually be his when I'm too old. He's really taken an interest in it.

Man that's awesome. I was in a 2013 Subaru WRX so I know the addiction to autocross. I would love to watch a time attack race in person some day.

Really cool truck sir. Can't wait to watch it progress.

Pretty cool build. I'm going to keep an eye on this thread for sure. I too have a 460 and c6 in my truck. You are going to love it. The only changes on my truck when the 460 was added was to add the front end of a 73 F100 (i beams, disc brakes, steering column, power steering unit etc)

Nothing at all like what you are doing. This is pretty cool.
