Sounds like a good Saturday Sous!!! I am looking forward to those vids. I am sure they will be top-notch. Cheers!
Oh, one question. Do you enjoy brews while working on the truck? I have had buddies who refuse to for fear of making bad decisions. For me, I GOTTA have it in between takes for sanity and enjoyment of the process LOL...for me, it's part of wrenching. Just wondering.

I enjoy a good brew anytime! Seriously though, if it is something that I am very familiar with I will have a couple of beers while working on it. Although, something like this I normally wait until I am in the downhill slope and cleaning up. Then I have a either a victory beer or a defeat beer. The best thing about beer is that they are good and suited for any situation...

I have big plans for the 5th wheel once I get done with the truck though. An entire solar charging system is going into it this winter in prep for our long journey back out west again in the spring. So, once the SXE is done, the 5th is done, I will have a lot of road time (~15,000 miles) hitting both of them the first half of next year.
First world problems...

@brian42 I'll most likely post results, however my install timeframe is currently in the not soon category. Thinking Late Jan to Feb.
I’m slowly coming to the realization that I’m probably going to keep my stock turbo. I’m not interested in going over 30psi boost or in spending $1500 to “probably” clear up my smoke (plus the 38R is not rebuildable). I’ve already modified the compressor side and wonder if there’s something I can do to the turbine side to help. There’s not a lot of SOTP info out there so am curious on your before and after thoughts whenever it happens.
I’ve still got traction bars, leaf spring, relay boxes, and a stack of other projects before I consider pulling the turbo off.

Even if north CA is not next year, it is on our list of must see places.

I thought that increasing the exhaust housing size increases lag time thereby exacerbating the smoke issue?
I could easily be wrong in my assumptions as I have not delved far into housing swaps and van turbos based on my assumption.
To clarify my “smoke” issue: it is a lingering “puff” of haze if I jump on it in my non-performance tunes. I don’t want you guys to think I’m rolling coal everywhere. If I roll into the throttle there’s no smoke.

Well, it’s 30* here freezing Fog and rain and the sun has set so black ice will be forming too. This morning the fog was freezing, and so thick you couldn’t see 10’ in front of you, combine that with the idiots that don’t turn their lights on and it was dangerous to be on the roads.
Nice this morning on my little ranchette.
