"My dad was an F-4 pilot, so it's kind of in my blood to love planes."

I am kind of a plane guy as well but I don't know a lot about them. My dad was in the Army Air Corp. back in the 20's. Jennies and blimps were state of the art back then.

On a side note, I think I have posted here about my exhaust brake. Well, my dumbazz finally started looking deep into and found the solenoid on the turbo pedestal. I jiggled the pigtail and BOOM....it closes. So, I guess I'll be replacing the pigtail. At least I learned yet another system on this truck for troubleshooting.

Looks nice. Was just looking at one with three axles, it must be longer. Was also thinking how heavy that one would be with three slides. How long is yours? And what's the weight if you don't mind. Wife's is really on me about replacing ours. Ours is a tow behind also.

It's a "37" model, but measures out at 40'. I really like this trailer, but I do wish it had one more axle. It has 14 ply tires and the dry weight is 12,500#. KZ was making one of the best on the market in 2006. I am surprised they didn't have three axles. They are 8k axles though, so there is that.

Your right about the 5th wheel vs. bumper pull, the hype is real.

Never buying a bumper pull trailer again.

Congrats on your new to you trailer!

Well, finally devoted the afternoon to clearing up little things on Ike and doing some maintenance. I also FINALLY put in an upgragded GS Oil Pressure Gauge and sending unit. The old ones would only last about 2-3 months. They went to a newer style electric unit over the old diaphragm style. I also found the culprit to my exhaust brake going in and out. It's tied into the solenoid on the turbo. I disconnected it and redid the wiring. It was all crusty from oil and heat causing intermittent failure and a P0475 code. I am thankful for that code because it led me on the chase and helped make the connection between the failures. Anyways, was a good day. And we all know pics are fun.

Congrats on the new trailer! When my parents upgraded from bumper pull to 5er they never looked back either.

My dad hauled a 5er just shy of 14K. He wanted to avoid bags as his Chevy was his work truck too and spends a lot of time in the fields and Mexico.

He had Timbrens and was very happy with them.

Thanks Brian! I still kinda can't believe we got this for the money we did and that it has the room it does. We have wanted one for so long. I'll have to look up those Timbrens. Hellwigs are hella pricey. No airbags for me with the B&W setup. I have had them before and liked them, but honestly, always having to fill them and check pressure is kind of a PITA. I'd rather just hook up and go knowing my overloads are what they are. Getting closer to having that beer mate. Can't get home soon enough no matter what doom and gloom I hear about LOL!!

That's what happens when one party dominates so completely for far too long. But I completely agree. As much as I would love to see "eye-to-eye" with a different political landscape in a different state, I do love California. I'll fight the good fight here as long as I can. Maybe I'll sell everything in 15 or 20 years and find a state with a nice plot of land that has trees and a pond or creek flowing through it and sip sweet tea on a covered porch. But right now, I can't leave my coastal climate.

Monterey is a paradise. Expensive to live, but I love hearing the waves crash on the beach at night.

Stewart
