We do have very cold and long winters though. Also less shopping place for the Mrs, so that benefits me as well!
Where in south east Idaho are you? Use to hunt up that way for years.

Same here. I left San Diego over 10 years ago. I've been back maybe 4 times, don't think I will ever head back unless it's for a funeral.
I have 60 acres, cattle, horses, tractor and a few other things for less than my cousin paid for his '60s house in Costa Mesa.
Don't miss the traffic and lunacy one bit. Only have to go to town occasionally, thankfully I'm home office.

I hear you man. We live on a 4000 acre cattle ranch and the nearest town has a pop. of 950. All I'll say is we have no complaints. We miss it, but miss what it used to be, not what it is now.

Well, guys, we all get a little bit older every day, don't we. With being really sick for a week and just now getting my feet back under me, I've neglected to share a significant event in my life which happened Saturday morning, December 2, at about 6:30am.

I became a grandfather! Yep, my oldest son, Benjamin (some of you may remember Benjamin who hung out in here several years back while he had his '02 F250) and his wife had their first baby a little over a week ago... Eloise Noelle. Long delivery, but all went well and everyone is doing great. We hope to be able to make the trip to San Antonio to see them in January. Picture below of little Eloise when she was only 1 day old... she's really quite alert, and is a quiet and peaceful little girl.

Thanks, guys. I'm on the mend, but have a nagging "tickle cough" which still spontaneously erupts at times whenever I start to speak. Every day a little better, though.

I do miss the Sierras. My wife's family still owns a cabin up Highway 49 in Downieville.

I see pictures like that and it reminds me how much I miss my kids. They're all grown up and scattered across the country, making grandkids I don't see often enough.

Checking in here at 26* light snow last night. Trash was picked up and newspaper was delivered so I guess it's not too bad out there. It is nice to look out the window and not have to go out yet.

Congrats F250! She looks very attentive.

Currently 16* at my place, only got about 2-3" of snow. Didn't bother the little guys!
