Was a lovely 34 here in Oklahoma yesterday. Currently 32, high of 58 seems wishful at this point. Enjoy the food today!

Never surfed. I've boogie boarded a few times. Been here for 13 years and it's been about 3-4 years since I even went to the beach.

Going to be a warm 75 here in N. TX. Plan on taking my daughter down to the deer lease for an afternoon hunt. She doesn't like hunting in the cold.

Growing up in El Cajon, I don't miss the fall days and the Santa Ana winds...Maybe getting out on the ocean for a little yellowtail fishing, but that has been replaced by searching for Browns/Brooks/Bows/Cuts and Greenbacks.

Have a good post Thanksgiving weekend everyone!

You know it! Just rolled in from Bass Pro, stocked up on drys and nymphs... Also, a Purdy cool scoped pellet gun for the daughter... Speaking of which, if wanting to take pics, what's a good camera in the 3-500 range. Tug threw out a Fuji x60 a few years back, so I got it. Now, thinking I want something with a detachable lens..etc

There are always the "old standby's" Nikon, Cannon, Pentax and many more. Been away form photography for some time now so not up on the "new" stuff. My old black body Nikon F served me well for years, but finding someplace to process film is not easy these days. Especially up in the "nether world".

Where are you guys that trout fishing happens? I am in the Texas Hill Country. Apparently, there is some pretty scenic fishing on these rivers, but I have no idea where to start yet and I need to find out.

Picked up 2 yards of mulch today on sale for 10 a yard. Spent some time cleaning up the front yard and putting the mulch where it was needed. Made the wife happy I guess.

Used load bars and a tarp to make a "tailgate" worked well but forgot to take a picture before I started unloading.

up until 3yrs ago, it was just the local lakes/parks. Was into cats during v the summer but have v that up. If kayaking, swimming..etc at the beach/marinas, I'll bring a pole as well. It was spring of 91' when I went to mammoth for the first time. Me, a buddy and his family went after baseball. We caught so much trout, that the local mom/pop restaurant cooked it for us. We just had to clean them, so..me and Steve gutted them in the motel 6 and flushed remains in the toilet😁... That experienced stuck, and had the itch since. Only took 25yrs to return. Now, my daughter, wife..look forward every year. Already booked my spot for july👍. Now, its all about fly fishing. Like nothing else... Doheny, few yrs back

This used to be easier to answer, if looking for a single model. Nowadays, you need to target the purpose of the camera.

I bought a boat this year, so I needed a camera that had powerful optics (30X Leica) and strong electronics for dealing with movement. When not bobbing wildly from jet skis, I might want a nice vista shot - requiring excellent color reproduction and very high resolution - like 4K video. I chose a Lumix ZS60, partly because of my excellent experiences with previous Lumix cameras. I use the viewfinder, but it also has this cool touchscreen to frame my shot.

Canon has a heavy contender, in that it has a crazy powerful zoom on the PowerShot SX530. As for what works for you, there are so many options available on cameras today - you need to isolate how you will commonly use the camera. Action cam? Pocket cam? Making a coffee table book?
