Hey all, just checking in and saying hello. We have been traveling gypsies for the last few days visiting my friend and his wife up in North Dakota. We did the oil cooler and fog light install on my truck, and pulled the head on the passenger side on his truck while enjoying lots of cold beer. Was a great time. I'll post some pictures up later.

Customer's are the best. You make plans to travel to their location, and at the last minute something goes wrong with their schedule (no one's fault), leaving you stranded at a connecting airport waiting for another flight back home. Sadly, everything's booked until this evening. Happily, the airline graciously let's you into their lounge with free beer and wifi all afternoon.

I was going to say, during my travels in the military I spent quite a few hours in the airport bars.
I remember one time back in 1996 a few guys and I were returning from a lovely stay (sarcasm intended of course) in Saudi Arabia right after the Khobar Towers bombing. We got into Philadelphia extremely late and had to wait until the next morning to catch a flight out. We were somewhat young military fellas in desert camouflage uniforms with nothing to do at a closed airport.
We managed to pay a cab driver to go get us a couple of pizzas and a case of beer. We sat in front of the airport the entire night drinking beer and eating pizza. The highlight of the night was when two cab drivers got into a fist fight over something, couldn't really understand them.
Either way, it sucks that you stuck there, but make the most out of it and it sounds like you might be.

I travel a lot for work, mostly east coast day trips, and the past few years I've been United gold or platinum, so I get upgraded often. Not worth much on a 1-2 hour flight, but nice. When I was still in the reserves, we traveled at least once a year somewhere, and now whenever I see an enlisted in uniform - or if I figure it out from the tearful goodbyes now that non ticketed family are allowed to the gates - I'll trade my upgrade with them. This morning I was about to approach an army fella, until he turned around and I saw he was a two star General.

Before this job I have now, I was a field tech for an international company. I got the free upgrades countless times (avoid Southwest cattle conveyor), had my favorite airlines and airports, avoided ORD like the plague, and built up those miles.
Frequent fliers get into this groove and ease through TSA. However... come the holidays, I liken it to a summer weekend at the boat launch. It's entertaining to watch the families fumble through the "ramp" once you are through the ordeal yourself - but it's not so funny when you are in line behind them. You're like a football ref without the microphone - making wild gestations with your appendages, and mouthing something the crowd can't hear.

Got to witness a poor soul one day that had rock hard tires on his truck and was launching his boat at low tide. Boat and truck slid all the way into the water, but he managed to get out before getting wet. He was proud of the fact that he was not wet, until he opened the door after it was recovered and released the ~100 gallons inside the cab.

Prior to last weeks Bishop trip and just getting back from Bullhead, I could barely successfully pass the 16mpg threshold. Add to that, 245/75 with 4.10 gears, and the 16mpg was in the rearview mirror...so, a little improvising, I tried the Tugly MAP tap into mod...epic failure. So, with a 17yr old MAP sensor, I decided to order a new one. Came in, installed it prior to Bishop and inflated the tires to 70#, also, fresh oil...trucked banged a 17.67mpg there, 18.19mpg coming home and a 17.75mpg-ish to/from bullhead.....ya buddy!!!
