Finally finished the solar and battery upgrade since returning from the great frozen northwest...

I am by no means an expert, but I learned a lot after many hours of figuring out volts, amps, loss, heat and what needed to be done to keep things efficient and safe.

Front storage compartment done to include four 6v Trojan batteries, 2000w Xantrex inverter, Victron charge controller, circuit breakers, cutoff switch, appropriate sized wires throughout and 400w of panels on the roof.

This is what the front storage compartment looks like with the covers on to protect all of the electronics and still allow us to use the space. Also our 2500w generator that will run the A/C or charge the batteries when boondocking over multiple rainy days.

Control center with the OEM switches, the inverter remote on/off switch, Victron battery monitor, SeeLevel digital tank monitor, Weboost remote on/off switch, WiFi Ranger reomte on/off switch, Progressive industries circuit protector display and modified water heater/pump panel.

Looks really good Sous. Now I'll bring mine over so you can hook in ours so the wife can watch TV and video on 12 volts. My solar panels work great, just haven't figured the rest out. God bless,

I agree, that would be great for the help. Beer and BBQ always go good together. And I appreciate the offer. God bless,

Byron, where was that? I went to Death Valley a week or so ago to see the dry lake with water in it, I missed it. And no flower bloom. But we had a great time. Just me and the wife and are little dog. Looking forward to this summer.

Hey Chet! It's the Anza Borrego desert east of Julian. Our spot was called Fish Creek, WAY off the beaten path. Just us and no one else! We had a great time. Creation is something to marvel.

Byron, looks like a great time. My wife and I went through MOAB Utah and Arches national park on the way home fro ID a couple weeks ago. We love the colors and landscape of the desert, but we live our trees and rivers in GA more.

Ike was put to good use I see.

LOL John on both accounts! No tempting!!!! And no, no luck at all. One more day and he comes down off of CL. I sure like that dually, but I don't wanna start over with another 7.3 just yet. We have a plan. I shall reveal here pretty soon. Ike is too damn good to go anywhere I have decided...95% anyways I'll keep you posted! Dually sure is a good one though.

Thanks Sous. I'll bet you and your wife saw some amazing sights. I have been to both if those and they are something. I understand though. Home is home, right?

Ike earned his keep this trip for sure. I'll keep you updated, like I told John. He's coming down off of CL tomorrow. I dealt with the last parasite Saturday....had enough.

We spent spring break near the Colorado River in AZ last week and I’ve never seen so much color.

Happy Monday morning fellas!

Well, still job searching here. My extra free time has been taken up by my ranch project list. Been working on our new barn power, got a 200amp service placed just shy of 500 ft from my meter. Now I can start interior stuff in the barn without having to get out 300ft of extension cords.

Calving is all done for me, time to sell a few cows after the calves are a few month old.

Hopefully Winter is gone!!

Hey @Colorado350 how close was that tornado in Falcon? I asked my parents and they didn't even know it happened.

Byron, the top picture was taken just outside of Challis ID which is where our family lives. It is ~1.5-2 hours from the MT state line. Beautiful country up there and we enjoy it every time we are up there. A lot of beer, fishing, smores and just BSing around. Although, we prefer to go in the summer due to my hatred for the snow and cold.

We have been to most of the 50 states, and prefer the north GA area in the winter and the north ID area in the summer.

Beautiful country we have here, shame more people are not aware of what is out there...

ZachinCO, new employment will come along when it is the right time. At least you are keeping busy with projects in the meantime.
