I agree with you guys. I honestly thought he'd be gone by now. Not even an offer. One lookie loo, one inquiry, and that's it. I am not sure what's up, but he may be around for awhile. I might just keep him and buy my wife an Excursion at this point. I have so much into him and he runs so well that seeing him go is going to be TOUGH. I had one kid come look and kick around and waste 2 hours of my time only to tell me it;s not what he's looking for. Yeah, I coulda choked him. I hate selling stuff....HATE it.

If there is any way you can keep it, I would. I sooo regret selling mine. I felt I had to at the time, with unemployment pressure, and the need for project cars with my kids, not to mention self imposed PMS. But as I look around now at what's available in my area, I really had a good thing. You have a good thing with Ike, no question.
Are there reasonably priced V10 Excursions in your area? I'd also recommend the Chevy suburban/GMC Yukon XL 1/2 ton with the 5.3, or the 3/4ton with the 6.0L (or 8.1). Especially if it would help you keep Ike. I still have an '04 Yukon XL 5.3 1/2 ton and very happy with it. I had an '02 chevy suburban 3/4 ton with 6.0L, and it did a find job towing my current travel trailer (after adjusting my expectations from the BWST, for sure). Both of these types of rigs sell in my area at bargain prices.

I just had a 2019 Ram Big Horn 4wd supercab as a rental all of last week (5.7 Hemi). With my long-term very strong dislike for Chrysler products due to family history with them, I have to admit that the Ram I drove was very nice indeed. It rode well, handled well, the engine felt strong and sturdy, and it was quiet in the cab. That said, I do not believe I would consider purchasing one just because of my long-term prejudices, and I think there are equal or better options otherwise without me having to challenge my prejudices. Regardless, just because of my price point for a used vehicle purchase, it would be 4-8 years before I could consider a 2019 year model anyway. That said, I'm still pointed towards a '13-'14 F250 with the 6.2.

nice find RamRidah...ill update my response later when normal wake up, but theres a part that always fails. Equivalent to our cps but deals with fuel. My brothers' buddy has an 03(newer model, same motor), and keeps 2 of them in the glovebox. The 1st breakdown/repair, he was informed about it

Today is a sad day for me.
Dropped of my truck at the repair shop earlier this week from the accident I had last month (not my fault). I Just got off the phone with my insurance company and my truck is going to be totaled. Apparently the damage was a lot more extensive than expected once they started taking it apart yesterday.
My 11 years of tumultuious 7.3L ownership is coming to a bittersweet end. Unlike Tugly, it is not in the cards for me to continue as an active owner of this fraternity.
I was actually getting close to having the truck in a place to spend some time enjoying it after 3 years of chasing leaks and problems. Since it has turned out to be a futile effort I almost wish this had happened a few years ago before I spent a small fortune to chase leaks and keep it running.
As much as I would love to keep my truck running, I am not in the position to buy my truck back as a salvage or start anew with a "fresh canvas" on another 7.3L. I still have lots of stuff in boxes in the garage that I never got to (ATS rear springs, OUO traction bars/blocks, and a Detroit locker) that will hopefully end up in a good home and defray some of the lost investment in the truck.
It has been a wonderful ride and I don't regret one penny of it but it's time to walk away from the blackjack table and cut my losses.
This has been the best forum I've been a part of and plan to stick around and provide some perspective and experience (and possibly some witty banter) until I no longer feel welcome. I say that because the first glance at my possibilities none of them will be a diesel and not all of them are a Ford product.
