Yep, that's what it is, fortunately it'll be out of here in a couple of days, a few years ago it was brutal all winter long.

Zach, I get pretty attached to a good steak myself. . Growing up, the farm was the farm and cattle were there to produce...one way or the other. It was a hard lesson sometimes especially being younger but as I got older I understand. The calf is cute now in 15 months not so much, either way itíll work out.

When we raised our own beef we would name the new calf. There was T-bone, Ribeye, Porter, Burger, Rib-ette... no I'm not kidding. Kept things in perspective for us kiddos. Teens today think meat in the store is made from magic by some guy called Butcher behind the glass counter.

That is funny. We raised some beef just for us. And the wife named it and said she wouldn't eat it. She left the day it was picked up. Didn't want to see what they do. Had a friend butcher it and it was good. My Mom was that way when she was young. It was her pet pig. Came home from school, know pig. It was at dinner. I remember how she told the story. Yet she Married my Dad, a butcher all his life! God bless,

Chet

Oh they know. They have been enjoying 2 of the steers we've had for the last 1.5 years. All they need is to break a few fences and they are ready to help load them into the trailer and head off to the slaughter house.

This is the girl twin.

I've got a 5 month old calf, his name is Burg, as in burger...

Dealing with a family emergency, but saw this on an E.R. Physicians 6.7 truck.

Thought it was pretty cool.

Ironically I'll be sending some beef to the OC next month....Not sure my cousin will be willing to give up his ribeye though.

Well we finally got our first real snow, most of last night and still snowing as we speak. Only ~ nine inches so far but it is supposed to continue for the next couple of days. No power till about 1415 today. Pain not having water or heat. I keep telling myself that I need to install a backup generator but to be done properly will be a pain in the but at the very least.
Have a good day all!

My wife and I were just discussing a backup generator. I'm starting to look around now, if I lose power I'm in the same boat. No heat, no water, lots of meat in freezers!
