When I first moved to Colorado from San Diego I'd see people wave, took me a few months to figure out they were doing it with all 5 fingers and not just the middle one like they use in SoCal...

we have been averaging ~106 most days here.

don't know how we survived growing up without AC in the house or car. still have the morning cup of joe, but it is always ICED now....

The wave

The wave is a very real thing between us corvette drivers of all years, probably 80% either returned or initiated by the other drivers.

Around here dirt road wave's are all most mandatory, if you don't wave you may get stopped by them blocking the road cause you are either lost or obviously don't belong here and may be up to no good

Keabler is starting off with a positive reputation.
I get the wave a lot. Used to be only when I drove my wrangler, almost like other jeep drivers felt a compulsion to wave. Now I get it in the SD. Of course it could also be because of the small town in Northern California. Pretty friendly people up here.
Off that topic, I love when another car tries to get around me when we're talking off from light, as though my old diesel is going to slow them down and I give her some throttle. The looks are priceless.

My all time favorite thing that happened was an A-hole Prius driver that had cut me off two times. He was 17-18, chain smoking in his Prius completely oblivious to the big red Diesel he had cutoff at two lights. So, at the second light getting in the interstate, I truned my chip up to street tune, which smokes A LOT. I proceeded to get on the freeway, sped up beside him and blasted him. He had all of his windows down. No lie, there was so much black smoke in his car that it was coming out of his sunroof!! He was flipping me off and trying to catch me LOL...he couldn't. A-hole move, I know, but a man can only take so much.

Same here, usually never an issue if you see a cowboy hat on the drivers head or on the dash.

Unfortunately around here, if I waved at every super duty I saw, my arm would get tired quick and everyone would think I was special. There are so many super duties in the Napa valley. Many 7.3's still roaming around here too.

I was raised in a small town. I was close to 30 when I realized most drivers do not wave, or wave back when towns are larger (Southeast experience).

90% of the time I'm on the road I wave at most people.

The other 10% is when I'm in the company vehicle and reserve waves for fellow employees.

Not every Prius owner buys one to save the environment... some of us do it to save our wallets. I get over 50 cents a mile in reimbursement - and it costs 14 cents a mile in fuel while cracking the whip across the back of the Energizer Bunny. After fuel expenses, my last reimbursement check made the boat payment.
