1966 F-250 custom wheels

to say the least, the options for custom wheels on a 1966 F-250 seem to be just this side of non-existent everywhere I look. F-100s? Sure...the choices abound. F-250? So far I've come up with a big zero. I'd even be ok with modern day factory Super Duty wheels...but from what I can tell, those aren't an option.

Am I missing something? suggestions welcome because where I stand now, I have some sort of weird aftermarket hubcaps that...well, frankly aren't very attractive.

I have 2017 F250 wheels on my 1966 F250 Ranger.
Took a bit but fit perfectly.
A bit too much "bling" being chromed aluminum but they were nearly free.
Bought new takeoffs for 740.00 then sold tires for 540.00
so 200.00 in set of 4 inc caps & lugnuts.
Thats 1/2 price of just the lugnuts.

I prefer stock looking wheels myself, but they are simply an 8 lug on 6.5 inch bolt pattern. Very common wheels in the aftermarket. Depends on what you are after I suppose. Les Schwab or Discount Tire around here can get a ton of styles, offsets, widths and diameters in this bolt pattern. Here's some examples on google.com

https://www.google.com/search?q=8+lu...w=1280&bih=918

Here's the ones I like to run on my F250s. These are a 16" x 6" Kelsey-Hayes 43552 rim with "innie" style mounts for the caps.

8 lug wheels on a 6.50" bolt circle: 1953/96 F250; 1967/97 F350; 1969/74 E300; 1975/2014 E250/350; 1997 F250 Heavy Duty.

F250's thru 1966 have "innie" wheels, as do some 1967/69 F250/350. Some 1967/69 F250/350 and 1970/97 F250/350 have "outie" wheels.

Innie: So called because the hubcap snaps over tabs located on the inside of the wheels center section.

Outie: So called because the hubcap snaps over tabs located on the outside of the wheels center section.

huh. ok so, I must have read something/understood something incorrectly somewhere. so from what I'm reading here, almost any F-250's wheels WILL fit bolt pattern-wise at least? (with some exceptions I'm sure)

Yep, Ford kept that same bolt pattern for 43 years on the F250 alone. As long as you are looking at 8 lug on 6.5" bolt circle they should bolt on - offset, diameter and width restrictions aside.

Here's the wheels that came on a couple of my trucks.

Western Wheels "Cyclone" - 16.5" x 10"

A common 8 spoke steel painted white. 16" x 10".

ok, I very obviously was suffering under a major information flaw.
those white spokes are pretty much exactly what I've been trying to locate.

thanks everyone.

Didn't the 48-52's F3's (3/4 ton) also use the 8 x 6.5" wheel bolt pattern.

Yes, and F2 back to 1948 also.

A stock 16" x 6" wheel with 8 lug x 6.5" circle and internal hub cap nubs was used on all F-2s and F-250s from 1948 to 1966.

Sorry to revive an old thread... but I was told that some 1960-something Dodge trucks were issued with the same (or very similar) 16" x 6" 8 lug 6.5" pattern. Is that correct? If so... do you know which models/years? Thanks!

Yes, some Dodge and Studebaker trucks would have had the exact same Kelsey-Hayes 43552 wheels. For Dodge I believe it was 1963-1968. Models with 8-lug rims, so likely their 3/4 ton rated pickups. I think they called it the D200.

Both Ford on the vans, and Dodge on the 3/4 and tonner models, kept the 8 x 6.5”’pattern pretty sure through to the present time. Or almost the present without looking it up. Like Chad said, Fords and Dodges for a lot of their history shared wheels. The Dodges are great donors for our big trucks having the 5 x 8” pattern because Dodge (like IHC) never used widowmaker rims. Stu
