Utah 2018 HITR Adventure

I found some stuff on an old computer. I don't know what you will be driving. The campsite's I have used in Valley of The Gods are not really campsites. They are just pull offs for folks driving the loop. A couple have some rock formations for a bit of protection. Not sure if camping is permitted. Comb Ridge has camping. If you have 4 wheel drive you could drive down to San Juan Hill. That is actually part of the original HITR trail. The River Park Ruins are down there also. If you have 2 wheel drive you could pull off the high way and camp and lots of folks hike down that way. I have the GPS tracks I could send you if you have something to import them with. Or with 4x4 and some extra time the twist has a good view back east of Comb Ridge. That is more of the original HITR trail If you want something closer to Mexican Hat you might do a search on Goosenecks State Park. If camping is not permitted you might check some side trails outside the park boundary.

I've asked Dennis, and he is wanting to go, but his job said no vacation during that period, due to some upcoming projects that they have going on. They said he can re-ask closer to that time. I have a cousin that showed interest, but he is one of those that says he will be there, till the very last day before the trip, then something may come up and he may cancel. I have room enough for all of you, so we can still make it happen if everyone says yes and it works for everyone.

Course the best thing would be if the women folk would go along and camp. Course if that happened then we would be required to go to at least one of the normally women only gatherings. Maybe things are best left the way they are.
