THANK YOU FORscan!!! Spare keys done!
If you haven't downloaded it yet, and picked up a decent OBD2 adapter - DO IT NOW!!!
FORScan is free....
Had ZERO issues programming 2 new PATS keys. Took about 20 minutes in the 110 degree sun, but...IT WORKED!!!
Just make sure you pick up GOOD replacement PATS keys. I got mine on Amazon here -
$25 for 2 uncut keys.
Lowes cut them for me for the cost of 2 blank ford keys ($4.50)
FORScan (well, Fords) are picky about OBD2 adapters. I bought a cheap-o Bluetooth version that didn't work right. Spend $20 and get one with the MS-CAN switch - this one (again from amazon) works perfectly - NOT ALL ELM327's are the same! (and for key programming, I trust a wire more than BT)
Oh and just in case, I picked up new Keyfobs...
$9, work perfectly
Hope this helps someone else in the pursuit of new keys!!!
