Still need to eventually do up pipes, gages, and Hutch/Harpoon when I get some money freed up.

Nice looking rig! And the vacation spots look just like we would choose. Have fun and thanks for sharing the pics

hate to be off topic here for a bit. When looking at good Weight Distribution, WD, hitch check out Hensley or ProPride.. https://www.propridehitch.com/ both are pricey but worth every penny and heavy as well. Another good brand is the Equalizer https://www.equalizerhitch.com/ a bit lower cost and a good overall hitch.

I got lucky and found one, propride, hitch on craigslist couple years ago for.... get this 500 bucks... you can find them online for 12-1500 bucks at times. NO sway with PP or Hensley and very little with Equalizer.

NOW back to regular programing..

Had a scare when the CEL came on halfway there, P1249 code. Saw it was wastegate related, and since my red line was plugged, drove on. ****ty mileage going there of about 10mpg @65mph. Backed off to 60mph coming home, and kicked off the overdrive on any uphills. Haven’t filled up yet but probably closer to 12. Tow setup not to my liking yet as any passing semi really made it a white knuckled affair. The vacation was nice and the Ex pulled like a champ.

I used the equalizer sway control with a Curt WDH for years and other than it popping and creaking turning at low speed it did great. Took almost all the sway out when getting passed or passing big rigs.

Good luck!

maybe I need to tighten the sway more. Coupled with the fact, my rig is 2wd, Xtra cab shot bed, think its inevitable its going to sway

2wd vs 4wd doesn't make any difference in sway control. Your wheelbase shouldn't be a problem either. I tow a 30' trailer with my Excursion and my trailer barely sways at all. It's all in how you set it up.

I’ve got a Blue Ox Sway Pro. Not impressed so far but haven’t driven across the scales yet. With the exception of food (fridge in back) and some dishes, everything else we’ve packed in the trailer is in front of the wheels. This is with dry tanks. The trailer is 32’ long, ball to bumper. That’s a lot of slab side to catch semi wake and wind.

It's how you set it up.

Check the tire pressure on your RV, too low will cause you a white knuckle ride with lots of swaying.

I had the trailer tires aired up to the max sidewall pressure of 80psi. I’ll figure it out this spring.

I air up trailer tire to like 70 PSI according to my weight and don't have a issue with sway.. but then I also have a propride hitch.
