Hi All,

I'm planning on replacing the driver side valve cover gasket on my truck this weekend. It is making a mess.

I'm using new Felpro gaskets. Beyond making sure the surfaces are clean/dry and a putting small dab of RTV at the timing cover joint is there anything I should look out for?

Torque from the middle out, 8 ft/lbs.

Don't use a ft-lb torque wrench. Tighten to 89 in-lbs.

 

Be sure to post a pic of your valvetrain while you have it apart. For us to critique.
