Hi everyone, Hope someone has an answer to this.
I park my 2003 Ford Ranger, auto, 4.0 4X4 extended cab in the garage and in the morning it smells like there has to be an open container of gas in my garage. It's a strong gas smell; anyone had this problem or have an idea where it's coming from. There is nothing leaking on the floor.

maybe one of the rubber hoses for the vapor recovery line is disintegrating...nasty ethanol gas eats them from the inside out..could also be you just need a new gas cap..

 

The rubber filler necks have a tendency to dry rot and crack near the tank, which allows the vapors to escape. Might be worth a look...

 

The filler neck rubber cracks near the tank.
If it is real bad, will drip fuel on ground during gas ups
Replace.
Tilting or removing the bed makes the job easy.
No need to drop tank.
