The spider-to-CAC tube boots are more than long enough. When I installed mine I fully seated the boot against the ridge on the spider and adjusted the CAC tube to be in a "natural" position before tightening the clamps. IIRC the boot is over the ridge on both my CAC tubes. I've only had one "blowout" in 8-ish years and that was at near WOT merging onto a freeway (turned out to be a loose clamp).

Happy anniversary. Looking forward to hearing good news on getting it started. I'm getting closer to that point also and am dreading that it will not turn over with all the work I did and it being down so long.

Here's the measurements of the Dieselsite CAC & Plenum Boots.

That top one is about what I saw on the RRD boot. Thanks

Here's what we're going to try. A buddy put a rough bead and a friction dot under where the clamp will sit.

Still no HPO, ICP only gets to 156psi. IPR climbs all the way up to about 94% while cranking.

The IPR is about a year or two old, Ford OEM.

I'll have to go over the connections and wiring later this week and see if I can figure it out.

How old is the ICP sensor? Did you try staring her with the ICP sensor unplugged? It's gonna take a while to start , gotta get that oil back into the system.

ICP is about 3 yrs old and I haven't tried it with it disconnected yet.

When I get back I am going to change the oil (enough cranking to get rid of any contamination from cleaning cup and previous failure, I think), fill hpop reservoir, remove ICP and fill that head, then crank a bit, then unplug ICP.

If that foamy work after a reasonable time, I'll move on to a Cody test and take it from there.

Sound like a reasonable plan?

Especially if the heads were empty of oil. I have seen some FTE'ers fill the head rails from the ICP sensor port and the HPO port, but it is not required.

EDIT: You were typing the same thing I was at nearly the same time. Let us know how it goes.

How old is the IPR John? If it was me I would put a new IPR & ICP in with new injectors. But that's just me.

Also, turn the KOEO for 20 seconds, do it three times. Make sure you get the fuel pressure up.

Its been a while, I can't remember - did you pull the Riff Raff fuel kit off and put it back to stock?

Also, since you have Hydra you can put it in the no start setting and crank her that way for a bit first & get the oil moving without starting.

Thanks for the advice, Rich.

The IPR is about 2 yrs old. Remember the breakdown? I used a lifeline call to Tugly, was rewarded by driving over an hour each way and overpaying at a dealership, LOL. But it got my Excursion home, so it wasn't all bad

I am going to go through it carefully from the oil side, changing it and the filter, filling what I can, etc.

The plan is to get on it tomorrow. It is supposed to be pretty cold here now through tonight, about 35* warmer tomorrow

Hope you got a good harvest! Good to hear from you again

But then my Excursion would be finished and working smoothly. Where's the fun in that? LOL.

I was looking at Rosewoods site and he was saying on injectors with "high miles" more so are in need of Plunger & Barrels and nozzles as well. What is considered a high mileage truck.

Mine is at 180K currently and seems fine but know I may need in a couple years to have injectors gone through and replace cups getting ready for full time RVing. expect to only have maybe 190K or so .. truck is not driven much during the week.

Check out this write up from Dave at Swamps Diesel.

If it were me I would strongly consider sending them off to Jim at Rosewood Diesel (C******, Ohio) for a $500 stock rebuild. Check out his prices on:

Rosewood Diesel Shop

He also has a DIY kit.

Then I would pull the turbo off and see what is going on there.
