The leather cover on the steering wheel on my '97 F-250HD has a hole through it. Now black goop comes through every time I touch the top of the wheel (hence the classy steering wheel cover in the picture).

If I get a replacement steering wheel from a junk yard, what wheels are compatible? My truck has speed control (with the controls in the steering wheel) and no air bag. Do I need to get a wheel that's the same? Or are those things just in the center section / horn button and can be transferred over from my old wheel to the new one?

 

You need the entire wheel. I just did the same thing with my non airbagged 97 250. I found a leather wheel in a U pull yard here in Mpls on my first stop
