86 mustang 302 into a 93 f150
I found an engine from a 86 mustang, Would that work in my 93 f150? And how hard would it be to change a 2wd trans to use in a 4wd? If I am thinking this through correctly all I should have to is change intake to switch it to injected. Am I on the right track? still trying to decide which way to go... stay with a 302 or switch over to a 351.... The 302 I found was rebuilt not long ago... Thanks for any help..

Its quite a bit of work to make a 2wd trans work in a 4wd since the trans has to be completely torn down to put a 4wd output shaft into it.
As for the 86 302, unless the heads were upgraded to at least E7s they will be the junk E6 heads with huge chambers an low compression. Other than that it will bolt in as long as it's going I to a 5.0 or 5.8 truck. But, recently rebuilt tells me the camshaft has probably been changed... Leading to a high probability that it is not computer friendly. In which case at a minimum you could have drivability issue. So, if you opt to get said engine and the seller isn't 100% sure what cam is in it you'll have to do a teardown and put a new cam in it.
