Hello everybody. I have a 2010 f150 crew cab with the 5.4 and I've noticed a ticking noise when I drove through town the other day. I got home put the truck in park and the ticking went away but when I put it in drive, held the brake and gave a little gas it came back even though I was not moving at all. What could this be?

 

Does it sound like the exhaust manifold could be leaking at one cylinder?

 

Sounds more like a lifter but I can only get it to make the noise in gear.

 

Know anyone that has it out for you? I've seen people install those long tie wraps on someone's driveshaft, then as they go driving down the street it goes whap, whap, whap as the driveshaft rotates.

 

lol. No I did look for something like that already though as my friends are the people that do that kinda stuff. I think I've narrowed down to the transmission at this point.
