Wiper motor blows fuse

Hello
it has been a while. I am dealing with a issue with my 74 f100 whisper motor. The truck has been totally reworked using American wire full kit. I had a shop install it everything is great but this one issue.they said the wiper motor got super hot. Did not turn. So I let it go and gives I just get a replacement motor. So I order one off eBay installed it and as soon as I turned whimper switch it blew the15 amp fuse. So I discontented the wiper motor and battery positive and checked the high and low feed when the switch is rotated from the feed on the switch and it appears to be correct. I then took the old motor and tested it by battery neg it the motor case and positive to the low speed then to the high speed and it seemed to turn as expected. What I am confused on is the return function. There is a red and black wire. The black wire on the motor appears to be a ground. But on the. Switch the black wire appear to positive. I am not sure what the red is. It ordered a another motor from scot drake and I has a additional black wire not part of the connector to the switch appears to be a ground wire/
I actually open up the other motor to understand how the return wires work and it appear the there is a switch that opens when the motor reaches the spot where the whispers are in the returned position.
i ordered a replacement switch as the last opt
Can someone explain what the voltage reading should be on the red and black return wires. To ground
I think I am getting 5 ohms and 11 ohms on the low and high feed to the motor case
this whole issue is making seem stupid. I worked in electronics for over 10 year and wired other parts of the truck with no issue but whiper thing is got me stuped
Any guidance would greatly appreciated

It's almost certainly in your park setting. if it's not set correct the motor fights with itself. I wish I could tell you how to fix it but if I knew I'd fix the exact same problem on my Challenger.

They tell me you can adjust it but I don't know , maybe that's the solution. . I never drive it in the rain so I don't care.

Figured it out sort of

I have solved the issue with the wiper on motor and switch on my truck. I took one of the motors apart to figure out how the work. First off the part wires red and black on my original motor and the one I took a part are connected to a switch in the motor that is closed except when at the parked position. Black is not ground and should read an open to the motor case when not connected the switch connector. The wire gets keyed 12v from the wiper switch . The black wire passes the 12 Volts through switch in the motor back to the wiper switch the black wire connector on the switch is always common to the low speed feed ( white wire to the motor) So the when the key is on the wiper motor gets 12 volts if the wipers are not packed the black wire loops 12 volts to low speed through the wiper switch. my issue with every motor but the original motor from the truck was the black wire is shorted to the case (grounded).
Not sure what the difference in the motor
